51 new apartment suites for Greek Town in one of Toronto’s most desirable neighbourhoods. The retained church will be renovated to maintain the congregation space, and new accessibility measures will enhance the property for all community members. Point-supported CLT on structural glulam columns. Prefinished exterior wall panels.
The project consists of 50 affordable apartments for at-risk seniors. The building will be operated by one of Toronto’s largest social service organizations, WoodGreen Community Services. Amenities include a new commercial kitchen, community food bank, a landscaped courtyard for the residents, and space designated for the congregation.
The adaptive reuse project maintains the site as a landmark by preserving the two towers and the full front face of the church, while adding an eight-storey mass timber residential structure.
